Week 1 - Introduction to 3D modelling.

This weeks task was to model a low polygon house but not to texture it. This task was quite easy to accomplish as it only used a few basic features of 3DS Max.

The first feature was simply the box tool. Click and drag, then let go of click and drag a bit more to create the size of the box. This took a few times to get used to making the correct size and shape box.

Then I changed how many segments I wanted in the box to a more suitable figure so that there were more vertex placed for me.

From there I needed to change it into an editable poly to edit the model with hundreds of additional features.

Doing this means I can now go on the vertex level and select any vertex in the model and move it, rotate, whatever. It also allows me to do the same functions to edges and polygons. The next tool I used was the extrude tool. This is amazing tool, you select some polygons and then hit extrude and you can pull out the polygons to create a number of slightly epic things.

Using the knowledge of these tools, I was able to construct my low poly house! Above ^^
